3. Rúla Búla Irish Pub
Rúla Búla is one of the top Irish Pubs to host a St. Patty’s Day Event. The name means “uproar and commotion” which is a pretty accurate description as to what the place is like, especially on St. Patty’s Day. Rúla Búla is located in a historic building in downtown Tempe at the end of Mill Ave. The inside immediately makes you feel as if you were transported to a real pub in Ireland. Every inch of the place was actually crafted in Ireland and transported over. Not to mention, Rúla Búla is the Top Seller of Guinness Stout in the whole state of Arizona! They are also the official hosts of the Pat Tillman, Pint’s for Pat gathering held once a year. Patrick Tillman was a professional American football player who left his sports career and enlisted in the US Army in June 2002. He was killed in the mountains of Afghanistan in 2004. Rúla Búla was his favorite spot where he’d come to sit in the dining room to relax and study his Cardinals playbook over a pint of Guinness. Now the pub carries on his legacy and Pat’s pint glass remains on the shelf of Rúla Búla’s back bar today. Their St. Patricks’ Day Event includes an auction which the proceeds are donated to the Pat Tillman Foundation.
